Valle Reale Description
Valle Reale was founded in 2000 with the goal of producing world-class wines. Working primarily with the Montepulciano varietal, the Pizzolo family strives to make wines that highlight the grape’s intrinsic qualities: strength, exuberance, vitality, color, elegance, balance and depth. The process begins with the careful selection of clones that are best suited to Valle Reale’s soil and climate, and therefore best express the distinct characteristics of the varietal.
Although the DOC rules for Trebbiano d'Abruzzo permit some of the highest yields in Italy (5.6 tons per acre), Valle Reale coaxes much less (4.4 tons per acre) from their Trebbiano vines for maximum concentration of aromas and flavors.
Tasting Note: Concentrated and elegant, Valle Reale's Trebbiano d'Abruzzo combines bright fruit with delicate aromas of white flowers and flint (an aroma encouraged by the old-fashioned pied-de-cuve technique).
Wine Pairing: Pair with grilled vegetables and rustic pasta courses like Spaghetti alla Carbonara as well as roasted poultry, sharp cheeses, and cured meats.

The 2022 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is decidedly savory and slightly herbal in the glass. This is a soft, round effort with crisp minerality and tart orchard fruits to balance. It leaves a salty flourish and hints of pear, finishing with medium length.
