Crafted with the passionate, uncompromised and ongoing pursuit of quality, this judicious blend comes from the finest barrels demonstrating the synergy among our estate vineyards on the Oakville Bench and on the foothills of Knights Valley and St. Helena. As the French say, “Je t’aime, un peu, beaucoup, passionnément!” (I love you, a little, a lot, passionately!) This special wine is dedicated to Luc’s wife, Jodie Morlet. It is ‘Passionately’ or ‘Passionnément.’
‘Passionnément’ is a selection of the best barrels from Morlet Family ‘Cœur de Vallée’ ‘Morlet Estate’ & ‘Mon Chevaler’ estate vineyards.
Tasting Note: Dark purple with an intense and complex bouquet of red, black and blueberries intermixed with notes of crème de cassis, plum, cedar and a hint of cigar box. Full-bodied, the palate is reminiscent of the nose, with a creamy texture and a great intensity. The luscious tannins, intense aromatic complexity and opulence create a flamboyant yet harmonious ensemble, leading to a very long, complex and smooth finish. The ‘nec plus ultra’ ‘Passionnément’ will age gracefully for decades.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Passionnement is a barrel selection blend of all three of Morlet's estate vineyards: Coeur de Vallée in Oakville, Morlet Estate in St. Helena and Mon Chevalier in Knights Valley. Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it reveals a deep garnet-purple color and vibrant notes of crushed black and red currants, Morello cherries and boysenberries with suggestions of menthol, Indian spices, black truffles and pencil shavings. The big, concentrated, full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruit layers with a velvety texture and plenty of freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Passionement is a blend from estate vineyards in St. Helena and Knights Valley. Bold and unctuous in the glass, the 2018 offers plenty of richness and depth, even if some slightly angular contours remain. Like all of the 2018s here, the Passionement is decidedly laid back and less bombastic than some previous editions, but it still boasts tremendous power to match its brooding profile. Chocolate, new leather, licorice and lavender linger.
