Located just an hour south of Melbourne on the Mornington Peninsula, the Moorooduc Estate has built a stellar reputation for producing delicious food friendly wines with character. This wine is a shining example of that: elegant, fresh, and balanced, it's a smooth, savory pinot noir with tasty notes of cranberries, dark cherries, and clove. This bottle represents a wonderful third way of pinot noir: not quite Burgundy, not quite American - it's got an identity all its own. Medium bodied, slightly spicy, and made with 100% wild yeast, its simply a gorgeous pinot that doesn't need food to be thoroughly enjoyed. That said, it will pair beautifully with grilled Middle Eastern dishes, and its a great option for your next turkey dinner. Can't recommend this wine enough.
Moorooduc Description
This cool-climate dry red comes from the Mornington Peninsula, one of the southernmost points of mainland Australia. The McIntyre family dry-farms, uses wild yeast, and all fruit is sourced from the same three vineyards. One quarter new oak is used for both barrel fermentation and aging for 17 months. Floral and delicately spiced, pair this with chicken and stewed plums
