Domaine François Buffet Description
The Buffet family first settled in Volnay in 1692. However, the Domaine’s winemaking heritage began in the 19th century. Today, Marc-Olivier oversees the Domaine, using his expertise and passion to carry on the family’s winemaking tradition.
Celebrated for its finesse, this Volnay village appellation boasts a full-bodied wine that is soft on the palate. It can be enjoyed young but its depth suggests a potential for graceful aging. Keeps well.
The village Volnay sourced from two parcels: La Gigotte and Les Famines
The wines are transparent, lightly extracted, and light-footed. They are elegant and refined with a pure note of pinot noir.

The 2022 Volnay Village is a blend of two lieux-dits, as usual. It has a feisty and lively bouquet with raspberry, blueberry and sous-bois scents. There is plenty of substance here, lovely red berry fruit laced with graphite and impressive substance and freshness on the finish. Recommended.
Burghound: 89-91 Points
Pretty and airy aromas include those of red cherry, currant and a touch of spice. The racy, delicious and refined flavors exude evident minerality on the youthfully austere, sculpted and lingering finale. This is a lovely Volnay villages for drinking over the short to mid-term.
