Champagne A Bergère Description
Adrien Bergère is the next generation to a family that built their sizable estate as farmers in the heart of the Vallée du Petit Morin. At the full scale the family now works 45 hectares and Adrien admits having so much great terroir at his disposal, at such a young age is true gift. It is quite the inheritance and a brilliant space, ripe for experimentation. Barrels and foudre outnumber the steel tanks, a solera project has kicked off recently and Adrien has a line of parcellaire wines in the stacks, the first look into his personal findings from his terroir.
Origine Brut cuvée represents the “origin” of the family story and blends grapes from their three historic villages. Comprised of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier from villages: Fèrebrianges, Etoges, Congy, Vallée du Petit Morin.
Dosage: 5g/L
Vinous: 90 Points
The NV Brut Origine, a blend of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier based on the 2021 vintage with 30% reserve wines, showcases its Chardonnay dominance with lovely notes of lemony Mirabelle tart, creamy and sunny. Tasted from an earlier disgorgement last year, it benefited from more time on lees, as its slenderness is now supported by a creamier mousse. Fine, lively bubbles elevate the wine's lemony brightness.
Dosage is 4 grams per liter.
