Ballentine Description
Vintage Notes: Our inaugural Estate Cabernet Franc opens with a vibrant interplay of earth and plum, grounding the wine with a sense of place and depth. Aromas of cherry cola and dried herbs lend both sweetness and complexity. The medium-bodied palate reveals layers of black cherry, vanilla, and graham cracker, with a silky texture that leads into a lingering finish of wild huckleberry. Elegant yet approachable, this wine captures the expressive character of our estate and marks a confident first step in this exciting new chapter. Winemaker Notes: The Cabernet Franc was harvested from two estate vineyards: Pocai Vineyard, picked on October 2nd and 6th, and Fig Tree Vineyard, picked later on October 19th. Lots were fermented in a mix of stainless steel tanks, 158-gallon wooden vats, and macro bins. Following fermentation, the lots were aged in barrels until June and then carefully blended to capture the unique character of our estate. The final blend was then aged in barrel for a total of 16 months allowing the wine to gain complexity, integration, and a supple texture while maintaining the vibrant aromatics and freshness characteristic of our Cabernet Franc. 2023 Estate Cabernet Franc Pocai & Fig Tree Vineyards Napa Valley 90% Cabernet Franc, 8.20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1.10% Petit Verdot, 0.10% Malbec Napa Valley 15.9% 489
