In order to be "Bottled in Bond" or "Bonded", a whiskey must:
- Be aged for at least 4 years in Charred oak
- Be bottled at 100 proof
- Be the product of a single distillery, and that distillery's DSP number must be on the label along with the location at which the product was was bottled.
- Be from a single year's distilling season, from January - December.
