Chartreuse Description
(Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé) is made using the same processes and the same secret formula as the traditional liqueur, (Green Chartreuse is the only liqueur in the world with a completely natural green colour It is powerful and unique. Only two Chartreuse monks know the identity of the 130 plants, how to blend them and how to distill them into this world famous liqueur. They are also the only ones who know which plants they have to macerate to produce the natural green and yellow colours. And they alone supervise the slow ageing in oak casks), and by extra long ageing in oak casks it reaches an exceptional quality.
Produced each year in limited quantities, the Chartreuse V.E.P. is made using the same processes as the Chartreuse Jaune. The Carthusians took care to select certain traditional yellow liqueurs which will continue to age for many years in demi-muids. The patina of time allows it to develop aromas of great complexity and long persistence.
Ingredients : alcohol, sugar, plants and flowers.

Green = 42% vol (84° US proof)
Presentation : Wax-sealed cork, back-label wax-stamped with the Chartreuse seal. Presented in a wooden box marked with a branding iron. Since the quantity available each year is strictly limited, every bottle is identified by its own number.
How to drink it : A subtle, mellow after dinner liqueur which should be consumed very cold.
